At Be Our Valentine, visitors sampled gourmet chocolate treats from Laughing Moon Chocolates and had a chance to learn about each of the three literacy groups sponsoring the event. All three organizations rely on volunteers for their enthusiasm, expertise and hard work and all three share very similar goals in promoting literacy in Barre.

Mary Leahy of Central Vermont Adult Basic Education, Amy Cunningham of Everybody Wins VT, and Karen Lane of the Aldrich Library collaborated in this wonderful event to recruit new volunteers to support the three organizations’ common goals towards literacy.

Central Vermont Adult Basic Education was extremely fortunate to recruit seven new volunteers, some of whom have already been assigned to teaching assignments or other volunteer tasks!  We hope this is the first of many collaborations of the three organizations.
