Educators from Moldova Visit CVABE

Moldova Visit

A group of nine educators from Moldova visited Central Vermont Adult Basic Education on the afternoon of May 3, 2010.
Together with hosts, Project Harmony International, the group toured CVABE’s headquarters at the Barre Learning Center, visiting with students, staff, and volunteers, and finally settling into chairs in The Depot, CVABE’s Youth Education Center.  There we all enjoyed a rousing question, answer, and discussion session and learned about each other’s education systems.
The exchange on this beautiful Monday afternoon was facilitated by two interpreters who spelled each other every half hour.
A spontaneous song-fest---the Moldovan National Anthem and other songs from that country---concluded the visit as we said goodbye to our new friends.
